Personally, I hope the rise of machines actually happens in my life time. That way, when the aliens come to visit us and find nothing but a planet of machines running around, they will have to take the time and effort to find out what really happened here. Of course, if the machines actually do take over, all we have to do is give them a religion to follow and that'll do them in for sure.
